DTI’s Safety Seal Makes Outdoors Safer for Holidays

It is inevitable that we all need to go out and do basic, normal activities such as grocery, shopping, dining at our favorite restaurants, health check- ups or settling our bills. Despite the dangers of COVID-19 we all need to continue living as normal as we can and even thrive in this setting as along as we are all responsible in observing health protocols.

With Holiday preparations in high gear, local government units together with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) have partnered to certify business establishments who have complied with the safety requirements. The Safety Seal Certification is a voluntary certification scheme that affirms that an establishment is compliant with the minimum public health standards set by the government and uses or integrates its contact tracing with StaySafe.ph.

The Safety Seal Certification is issued to allow a safer customer experience inside establishments like supermarkets, groceries, convenience stores, construction supply/hardware stores, logistics service providers, barbershops and salons, and service and repair shops measures.

To date multiple business establishments have been granted the Safety Seal from their respective LGUs and DTI. To date, more than 500 establishments have been awarded the Safety Seal Certification in Visayas and Mindanao. Major malls, restaurants, BPOs and government agencies in key the cities of Bacolod, Iloilo, Cebu, Mandaue, Davao, Cagayan de Oro and Dumaguete are already certified.
